What's in my Bag? : Michael Kors Bag

Hello! I was looking through my blog and realized I have no actual posts about bags. This blog was named Beauty and the Bag because of my two loves in the world, the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast" and my love of bags.

I have watched a lot of "What's in my Bag" videos and I love them! I don't know what it is about taking a peek into someones bag that is so interesting but to me and apparently many others it is.

I plan on  making a post of my Bag collection pretty soon so that you all can see my love for purses :)

Last spring, I began eyeing leather Michael Kors bags, I would always go to Saks or Macy's or Nordstrom and look at their Michael Kors bag collection. I also went to several Michael Kors stores to see what they had. One day my boyfriend and I went to Macy's and I spotted it....the bag....the bag that was just perfect for me. It was so gorgeous and shiny and just what I had always wanted in an everyday bag!

I think my boyfriend saw how much I fell in love with this bag and how much I did not want to part from it and he GOT IT for me! I was so happy! He began acting weird when he was paying for it and kept telling me to leave ?  I felt kind of bad since the price was around $400. Well when he was done he made me check the bag and be sure I liked it or that it didn't have any scratches or stains....I thought it was weird but I checked. Then he then INSISTED that I check the inside. :/ :/ :/ I almost told him to return it because I felt like he didn't want to get the bag for me. But when I looked inside I found the matching wallet! :D I guess when I wasn't looking he asked the sales lady to get the matching wallet, he was trying to make it a surprise hence asking me to leave while he was paying LOL.

Anyways, I am very thankful for this gift, I truly treasure it and LOVE my bag! Here it is. . . . . . .

The color is this sort of Carmel color I believe the name of the color is Luggage. The size of the bag is medium and I love that it has zippers on the side which makes that bag bigger....

front

I fell in love with the color, the style, size, and the hardware. I find it to be unique.

back
I love that it expands which makes it easier to put as many things inside.
After watching so many "What's in my Bag" videos I realized that I, like many other girls, carry around A LOT of useless things that end up hurting our shoulders. So I try to minimize what I carry around.

Another highlight to this bag, and other Michael Kors bags, is that it has four compartments and a zipper. It makes it so much easier to not lose things like my phone or a pen...

As you can see the inside is quite roomy, plus it has an attachment where I can clip my keys and they won't get lost :)

Here is the list of what's inside...
  1. My wallet
  2. A coach wristlet where I put:
    hand sanitizer
    Tylenol
    sugar packets
  3. A pen
  4. A cute notepad
  5. Kleenex
  6. My keys
  7. My Mickey Mouse planner :)
  8. The pink thing is a little bag that holds an angel that my mom gave me
  9. Hair tye
  10. Hair clip
  11. MAC compact
  12. Three Revlon lipglosses
  13. Chapstick
  14. Bedazzled heart compact
  15. Gluco-shot drink (my boyfriend has diabetes and his sugar can get low, that is why I carry sugar too)
 As far as the wallet...

I absolutely love it! It is big and holds up so much things, I carry it alone sometimes when I run out to do errands. I love that it also has a lot of compartments which is always a must for any wallet.

I carry the essentials inside such as my drivers license, debit card, Macy's card, some rewards cards, and change in the zipper compartment.

So there it is my "What's in my Bag". Maybe not as interesting as others but I truly hope you enjoyed. I have a huge love for bags so you might see more of these types of posts in the future! Again thank you so much for reading, please leave comments, and follow this blog....

Fashion/Makeup Inspiration: Tiffany D

I recently did a blog post about one of my fashion inspiration/icon Ms. Kim Kardashian, and I plan on writing many of these types of posts. Today I chose my favorite YouTube Makeup Guru Tiffany D. I stumbled upon one of Tiffany's videos a couple months back, and I instantly became a fan.

When you watch one of Tiffany's tutorials, she makes it so easy to comprehend and actually do the looks yourself. I have personally learned so MUCH from watching her videos. When Tiffany does a specific look (for example: Holiday Emerald look or Pink look) she gives you a good description of the colors that she uses and she gives you options and names of colors or brands you can use. She also does review, hauls, and favorites videos. I love that Tiffany uses high end brands such as YSL but one of her favorite lipsticks is from Loreal, a drugstore brand. I trust her advise and recommendations.

Tiffany D has done some 'Outfit of the Day' and I have to say she has amazing style. It's simple yet very chic. I love her necklaces, usually from Target. I literally want to run out to Target as soon as her video is done and purchase the necklaces that she wears. She always wears these bracelet watches from Guess and I loved them so much I bought one that was similar.

I know there are A LOT of gurus on YouTube, some who have become so popular and even famous that they have changed. I believe that Tiffany has been making videos since August of 2008 and she has (as of right now)  273,795 subscribers. She is a regular girl who loves makeup and enjoys making videos on YouTube.
I also follow her on twitter and I have asked her for some advise such as which MAC concealer is better, she said MAC studiofinish, so I gave it a try and I absolutely love it. Tiffany has (as of right now) 51,336 followers on twitter and I am very sure that she gets a lot of people asking her questions, but I love that she responds. I have tweeted her several times and she has almost always responded. She is so nice and down to earth. I appreciate her responding to me and other people on twitter, Youtube, and her blog.

Recently I attempted to recreate one of her Tutorials the Holiday Emerald Eyes Makeup Tutorial  and sent Tiffany a picture of it (my poor attempt) through twitter.  She actually responded and said how "gorgeous" it was. I thought that was very nice of her :)

I am so happy that I happened to stubble upon her videos. She is great at what she does, a super sweet girl, and on of my Makeup/ Fashion inspiration's.

Merry Christmas!

Three words to describe my Christmas morning Boyfriend, Bubbas, and books...

I want to wish everyone who celebrates Christmas a very Merry Christmas and to everyone else Happy Holidays. I love this time of the year, and although this is the first year I am without my family, I am happy to have spent such a nice, relaxing, and intimate Christmas with my Bubbas (dog) and my boyfriend.

Even though my boyfriend said no gifts I wanted to make it special especially since his birthday is tomorrow. This is him now wearing his new PJ's.... :) BTW he dose not know that I took this, he is sound asleep.

And my lazy dog usually gets 1 treat a day but today he got 2 lol. So now he's fat and happy...

And lovey ended up surprising me and got me what I wanted for Christmas....

The Style Lauren Conrad book and Sugar and Spice from her as well. I had no idea he got them and when I woke up this morning I noticed 2 gifts under the tree!

Anyways I just wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays! I hope you all got what you wished for. Thank you for reading my blog!

Makeup Haul: Wet N' Wild, NYX, OPI, & Essie

Hello! I'm so excited about this post because I have been wanting to post it as soon as I purchased all of these items! I purchased all these items in this past week, at a Beauty Supply store, Rite Aide and my new obsession...ULTA.

I have heard people rave and talk about an eyeshadow from the drugstore brand Wet N' Wild called Nutty. And I thought it was Nutty that I had never heard about it before. I was at my local Rite Aide, and as always I go through the makeup aisles to see if they have any good deals, and I noticed that Wet N' Wild was 40% off! To start off the brand is very cheap and I couldn't resist so I got the Nutty. I loved it so much that I went back the next day and purchased more eyeshadows plus 2 cream eyeshadow pencils.

I will start with the eyshadows...

From Left to Right: Sugar, Nutty, Penny, Kitten, and Envy

I am so surprised with the quality of these eyeshadows. The colors are so rich, bright, highly pigmented, and just really good! For a drugstore brand this is a great deal! The price is $1.99 and I got them 40% off. Highly recommend you go out and purchase these eyeshadows! They are great colors and good price!

Here are some swatches...

Same order as above: Sugar, Nutty, Penny, Kitten, and Envy

Next are the cream shadow pencils:

Top: Envy
Bottom: Techno
I like to use base colors over eyeshadows and since I was going to purchase the eyeshadow colors Envy and Kitten I figured I needed base colors for them. They are really bright, rich, and smooth. So far I like them. The glide on nicely. I am very pleased with this purchase. :)

I have been to Ulta before, back where I used to live, but I recently went to the Ulta at West Hollywood and I fell in love! They has great costumer service, and I was so surprised with the variety of brands and beauty products. I wanted to go check out NYX. I have heard great things about this drugstore brand so I had to see for myself. I purchased 2 jumbo eye pencils in the colors Pure Gold and French Fries

The colors are honestly super gorgeous. I already wore French Fries and its so rich and dark. I can't wait to wear Pure Gold! They last all day and they also glide on nicely.

Here are the swatches...

I also purchased a nailpolish at Ulta. It is the brand Essie in the color Shifting Power. A gorgeous gold color

My last purchase came from a local beauty supply store where they sold OPI nailpolishes. I went in to see if they had any glitter colors left from the OPI holiday Burlesque collection. They did not have the actual color I wanted (Bring on the Bling) but I found and bought this one instead...

OPI: Sparkle-icious
It is a purple, gold, and hints of blue glittery color. I LOVE it! Favorite glitter color so far! Here is the end result...
I watch a girl on YOUTUBE named Lorraine, she does a day in the life videos and also has a beauty channel...anyways she always paints her nails with one accent nail and I used these 2 colors to make my own

That is my haul! I hope you enjoyed it. I recommend everything I purchase especially the Wet N Wild eyeshadows which are on sale now!

Dear Santa,

This will be a small post...

I cannot believe Christmas is one week away from Saturday! So close! I recently did a post of my Wish List and that wish list was things I honestly cannot afford but hope to one day get.

I decided to do a Christmas wish list and these are things I hope I get and have wanted for a while.

1.) Gold angel wing necklace from Target. It can be worn short or long as it has 3 loop attachments. It is actually on sale right now for $25.99

2.) The Lauren Conrad Style Book. I love Lauren so much and have always admired her sense of fashion.
3.) The third and I believe last book in the Lauren Conrad series Sugar and Spice. I read the first two and was addicted and cannot wait to see what happens in this book

That is it.... What I honestly really want I cannot find a picture and post it and hope that I get it...I really want to get a good job. There is one job that I applied for and am hoping that I get called. Its close by, its what I love to do and I just really want it.

My boyfriend is what I wanted last year for Christmas and I got him this year :-)

I hope you all have Happy Holidays!

My Small Make-Up Collection and Storage

Hello Again!
I wanted to do a post about my own makeup collection and storage. I am a huge organizational freak, I love things to be nicely organized and put away.

Recently my boyfriend and I moved in together :-) Big change for me because I have shared a room, bathroom, and home with my huge family practically my entire life. The apartment we moved into is not too big and not too small, just right. Closet space is good except that my Lovey (that is what I call my boyfriend) owns soooooooo much clothes and shoes. So I had A LOT of organizing and storing to do once we moved in. We have a small walk in closet and I have one side while he has the other PLUS another closet in the spare room.

I had mentioned to my boyfriend that I have always wanted a vanity and one day we spotted a cute white one at Target. We didn't get it but every time we went to Target there it was. One day he finally said to get it with the matching stool. I don't remember the exact cost but with the stool I believe it was about $200.
As you can see to your right, we love Mickey Mouse and we have a small collection of Mickey's lol.
Anyways, I have this corner in our bedroom that is as my Lovey calls it "my area" In "my area" I have my vanity and a small shelf that we also purchased at Target. I store books and picture frames as well as my Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) collection. The stool opens up and I store miscellaneous things inside of it.

The only things that I keep on top of the vanity is a place mat, a mirror and my makeup brushes. I have a black place mat because the vanity is white and with makeup it tends to get dirty. The mirror lights up and magnifies. I use it mainly when I put makeup on and for eyebrow tweezing lol. My makeup brushes are all stored in an office pencil holder that I got at Target. I used flower fill from a craft store to put inside and keep the brushes up, just like at Sephora. :)

The vanity has one drawer and it actually is good in length, width and depth

It came with partitions and it has slots to put them in but I only use one. As you can see in the picture above, I also store my jewelry in the drawer.
The jewelry organizer I purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond and its perfect for bracelets, I want another one that matches the one I already have which stores rings and earrings and stacks as well.

I also have two hooks to the right of the vanity where I hang my long necklaces.

Now, I do not have a huge makeup collection like many girls do, I consider it small lol. I was watching one of my favorite YouTube gurus Tiffany D and she had a video about storage and organization. She talked about these plastic, stakable containers that she found at Target and when I saw them I just had to get them. Well I went to my local Target and no luck! I kept looking for them for like a month and finally one day I found and got them :) They are the best thing ever!!! They fit perfectly in my drawer and they stack!

You can kinda see in the picture above, it's one big container at the bottom and smaller ones on top. For my size collection this was just perfect, I do want to go back and try to get more :)

I also have white containers that were also purchased at my favorite store Target. The white containers are also stackable, they hook onto each other, and they are very convenient. I use the white containers for hair goodies and misc.things.

Right: lip products

middle: eye products and blushes

Left: Face products

Bottom: Eye palettes, MSFs, mascara's, concealers, and lip glosses.
Well that's it, my little collection :) BTW the containers can be found at Target in the aisle where they sell kitchen utensil containers.

Hope you enjoyed.

xoxo J
